Job Summary

    • The Network Team Leader is responsible for the LAN/WLAN plan, documentation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and all hierarchical tasks that are coming through the NIS Manager.
    • The Network Team Leader is under the direct guidance and supervision of the NIS Manager and NIS Supervisor to provide daily technical help to the Network Team for planning, implementing, configuring, and maintaining the AWCC upcoming and ongoing projects of LAN and WLAN to ensure the availability of the network and networking environment in AWCC offices and projects.

The WACC Jobs in Kabul, (Network Team Leader) will have responsibilities that include:

    • Ensures and provides effective functioning of WLAN/LAN, communication support, network administration, and the use of documenting tools, focusing on the achievement of the following results:
    • Compliance with AWCC projects' WLAN/LAN technology standards, policies, guidelines, and procedures of the information technology environment for AWCC external projects.
    • Identification and implementation of innovative uses of the WLAN and LAN would enhance the effectiveness of the AWCC projects.
    • AWCC Projects plan, deploy, configure, and maintain the WLAN and LAN communications for ongoing and upcoming projects.
    • Report the network's operational status by gathering and prioritizing information and management projects.
    • Reconfiguration of new equipment and systems in WLAN and LAN and take corrective actions in case of failure.
    • Configure routing and switching equipment, hosted IP, and voice services.
    • Provide remote support to on-site engineers and end users or customers during installation.
    • Provide remote troubleshooting and fault-finding if the issues occur upon initial installation.
    • Liaise with project management teams, third-line engineers, and service desk engineers regularly.
    • Speak to customers via email and phone for initial requirement capture.
    • Troubleshooting and monitoring of network problems: network traffic, usage, and performance.
    • Implementation of backup and restoration procedures for all Juniper, Cisco, and other brand devices that are in the core, AGG, and access layers of the customer network.
    • Maintaining network access policies and controlling systems to ensure that all the corporate access layers and equipment are in proper repair and working to maintain satisfactory communications.
    • Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
    • Maintenance of logs of reported problems and corrective measures taken
    • Administer the AWCC Projects corporate network to provide a stable and responsive environment.
    • Maintain up-to-date parameters of information for the network devices, including network mapping, configuration back-upping, and so on.
    • Monitor the network availability 24/7 and report the stability to the supervisor, NIS, or team leader.
    • Troubleshoot WAN connections with any kind of point-to-point links to ensure stable connectivity between the ISP and customer offices, remote sites, and AWCC regional offices.
    • A network engineer is a technology professional who is highly skilled in maintaining the connectivity of networks in terms of data, voice, calls, videos, and wired or wireless network service.
    • Experts with voice-over internet protocol (VoIP) skills, which is a mix of voice, video, and knowledge on one network. A network engineer designs, tests, installs, and maintains both local VoIP systems for projects.

Job Requirment

    • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related fields is required.
    • Must have completed the JNCIA, JNCIS, CCNA, CCNA Wireless, CCNP, PMP, SCRUM Master, and PRINCE2 training.
    • Preferred certification holders (JNCIA, JNCIS, CCNA, CCNA Wireless, CCNP, PMP, SCRUM Master, PRINCE2, and so on).
    • 5+ years of experience in managing sophisticated information technology fields.
    • Experience in PC support, remote communications, LAN/WLAN/VoIP/WAN.
    • Excellent technical skills and knowledge of information technology networks, particularly Juniper, Cisco, Ubiquiti, and Mikro-Tek switches, routers, and access points.
    • Knowledge of wireless LAN infrastructure, including wireless APs (802.11x), and experience managing wireless end-user devices.

             Desirable Attributes

    • Ability to meet deadlines; work under pressure; good negotiation and organizational skills.
    • Ability to provide 24/7 network services for the AWCC projects.
