Job Summary

    • User technical support & handle technical escalations from Level 1, Level 2 support teams.
    • Troubleshoot complex technical issues in Linux-Unix environments running on diverse hardware and technologies, ensuring resolution to completion.
    • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability of Linux-based infrastructure.
    • Implement and maintain security measures to protect Linux systems from unauthorized access and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
    • Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery procedures to minimize data loss and maintain business continuity.
    • Automate system administrative tasks using scripting languages such as Bash or Python to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
    • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls to ensure proper system security and data integrity.
    • Evaluate and recommend hardware and software upgrades to improve system performance and scalability.
    • Proficient in Linux command-line interface (CLI) and shell scripting.
    • Performing Red Hat Enterprise Linux, AIX, Sun Solaris, Windows, SUSE Linux, Rocky Linux, Oracle Linux Operating Systems & software installations, upgrades, migrations, backup, and recovery.
    • Manges the routine servers, storage, and other system administration equipment’s health check and management of critical spare parts for critical servers and performing the faulty part replacement.
    • Possess extensive experience with Sun Servers, including entry-level, mid-range, and high-end systems like IBM Power, Oracle Sparc M8-8 Enterprise systems, Lenovo, HP and Dell Chassis.
    • Possess extensive experience with backup software i.e Veeam Backup & Replication and EMC Networker backup application.
    • Strong Knowledge of storage technologies, such as RAID, SAN, and NAS.
    • Executes SAN Fabric zoning for new servers and storage devices & Plan changes / install to Storage, Logical Disk, Raid, and LUN Configuration & Installation and Configuration of new Storage..

The Senior Engineer, Linux/Unix will have responsibilities that include:

    • Experience with virtualization technologies, such as High Availability (HA), VMware ESXi vCenter & Oracle VM Manager (OVMM Server), Proxmox Virtual Environment, Microsoft Hyper V, Virtual Distributed Switch.
    • Demonstrate proficiency in LVM, scripting/shell scripting, and possess a strong understanding of troubleshooting and server management.
    • Strong understanding of security best practices and experience in implementing security measures on Linux systems.
    • Responsible to asset data center inventory management and integration of new technologies into the company environment.
    • Familiarity with networking concepts, protocols, and services, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and VPN.
    • Ability to adapt to new technologies and stay updated with industry trends and advancements in Linux administration.
    • Generate weekly and monthly status reports on projects.
    • Provide 24/7 support for critical situations and handle business-critical IT tasks and systems that provide a competitive advantage

Job Requirment

    •   Proven experience with open-source virtualization technologies like Proxmox Virtual Environment, KVM, OVS/OVMM and ESXi.
    • Ability to configure, manage, and troubleshoot virtual machines and virtualized environments.
    • Knowledge of best practices for virtualized infrastructure design and implementation.
    • Automation and Configuration Management:
    • Strong understanding of automation tools and methodologies, such as Ansible.
    • Experience in developing and implementing automation scripts for system administration tasks.
    • Ability to integrate automation tools with configuration management systems.
    • Security:
    • Strong understanding of security principles and best practices for Unix/Linux systems.
    • Experience in implementing and maintaining security controls, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and vulnerability management.
    • Communication and Teamwork:
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve technical issues.
    • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate technical concepts and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other engineers and IT professionals.
    • REQUIRED QUALIFICATION
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology.
    • Proven work experience as a Linux Administrator or a similar role.
    • Industry certifications, such as Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC), Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) and Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), are highly desired.
    • Knowledge of cloud platforms, such as AWS and Azure.
    • Familiarity with monitoring tools like PRTG, Nagios and Zabbix is a plus.
    • EXPERINCES
    • 5 to 6 years of overall experience in IT services and systems management including servers & storages management.
    • 3 to 2 years of experience in the administration of SUN-UNIX systems using SUN Machines and REHL Environment.
    • Experience with Dell SC9000, Dell PowerStore, HP and Lenovo storages and Oracle Sparc M8-8 systems, Lenovo and Dell Chassis.
