Key responsibilities of Driver:

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Safe Transportation & Movement: Safely transport staff, official visitors, and authorized cargo in strict compliance with local traffic laws, movement plans, and internal fleet procedures.
    • Daily Fleet Inspections & Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip checks covering fuel, oil, coolant, tire pressure, brakes, lights, and general vehicle condition; coordinate scheduled routine servicing to keep the vehicle in top working condition.
    • Logbook & Record Keeping: Accurately record every journey, mileage, fuel consumption, and movement detail in official vehicle logbooks.
    • Safety Equipment & Documentation Compliance: Ensure all required onboard safety kits (first-aid kit, fire extinguisher, spare tire, tools) and valid vehicle documentation are present before every trip.
    • Incident & Security Reporting: Report mechanical defects, damages, accidents, or route security concerns to the Logistics/Fleet supervisor immediately.
    • Operational Integrity & Ethics: Enforce passenger safety, respect confidentiality, prohibit unauthorized personal vehicle use, and follow all INTERSOS security directives during transit.
    • Logistics Support: Assist the logistics department with light operational duties and perform other related tasks assigned by the line manager.

Job Requirment

    • Education & Licensing:
      • Valid Afghan national driver's license.
      • Literacy required (ability to read, write, and accurately complete vehicle logbooks and daily reporting forms).
    • Work Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of professional driving experience, preferably with an international non-governmental organization (INGO), humanitarian agency, or diplomatic mission.
    • Technical Knowledge & Skills:
      • In-depth knowledge of Kabul city routes, surrounding districts, and provincial road networks.
      • Basic knowledge of mechanical troubleshooting, routine vehicle maintenance, and emergency roadside repairs.
    • Language Skills: Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto; basic conversational and reading knowledge of English is a distinct advantage.
    • Core Competencies:
      • High commitment to safe, cautious, and defensive driving practices.
      • Exceptional reliability, punctuality, and professional workplace conduct.
      • Ability to perform under pressure, maintain strict confidentiality, and adhere strictly to field security protocols.
      • Strong teamwork, effective interpersonal communication, and operational flexibility for dynamic movement schedules.
