The Vaccinator will have responsibilities that include:

    • Deliver safe, high-quality immunization services to children, pregnant women, and other eligible groups in line with MoPH, EPI standards, and organizational procedures.
    • Conduct vaccination sessions at health facilities and through community outreach programs to improve immunization coverage.
    • Assess beneficiaries’ vaccination eligibility and history, provide required vaccines, and ensure compliance with national immunization schedules.
    • Apply proper vaccination techniques while maintaining safety standards throughout the immunization process.
    • Manage vaccine storage and distribution by ensuring effective cold chain maintenance, temperature monitoring, and proper handling of supplies.
    • Maintain complete and accurate vaccination documentation, including immunization records, registers, and health reporting systems.
    • Track vaccine consumption, available stock, wastage levels, and expiry dates, and promptly communicate any supply-related concerns.
    • Ensure safe disposal of syringes, medical waste, and other vaccination materials according to IPC guidelines.
    • Provide awareness and counselling to families and community members regarding vaccine benefits, schedules, and prevention of infectious diseases.
    • Monitor, document, and report any adverse events following immunization (AEFI) based on required procedures.
    • Support community engagement activities, vaccination campaigns, and emergency response initiatives when needed.
    • Work closely with CHWs, doctors, nurses, midwives, and other health personnel to identify unvaccinated children and increase vaccine acceptance.
    • Maintain a safe, respectful, and child-friendly vaccination environment while protecting beneficiary confidentiality.
    • Participate in supervision visits, performance assessments, data verification, and immunization program reviews.
    • Prepare routine vaccination reports and support program monitoring, accountability, and donor reporting requirements.
    • Ensure adherence to safeguarding principles, humanitarian standards, and organizational policies while performing assigned duties.
    • Carry out additional responsibilities assigned by the Health and Nutrition Officer, Health Facility In-Charge, or Project Manager.

Job Requirment

    • High school graduate with certified EPI vaccination training and valid professional registration where required.
    • 1–3 years of experience in immunization, primary healthcare, or community health programs, preferably with NGOs.
    • Good knowledge of MoPH/EPI guidelines, vaccination schedules, immunization procedures, and safe injection practices.
    • Practical experience in vaccine management, cold chain maintenance, storage, and temperature monitoring.
    • Familiarity with immunization reporting systems, HMIS/DHIS2, documentation, and vaccine stock management.
    • Strong communication, counselling, teamwork, and community engagement skills.
    • Proficiency in Pashto, Dari, and English, with basic computer skills preferred.
    • Ability to work in remote areas, maintain confidentiality, follow humanitarian standards, and support vaccination activities effectively.
