The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the world’s largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. The assistance provided by WFP includes emergency food assistance, school meals, nutrition programmes and important self-reliance and resilience programmes. The Storekeeper G4 will have responsibilities that include:

1. Receive and dispatch commodities efficiently, including transhipment operations such as truck-to-truck transfers, based on officially approved documentation such as waybills and delivery notes. Ensure that physical quantities are accurately verified and that the quality of commodities meets established standards.
2. Prepare, review, and authorize warehouse and transportation documentation. Maintain confidential records and accurate warehouse transaction logs to facilitate timely reporting of commodity movements in accordance with organizational requirements.
3. Carry out daily warehouse reconciliation and inventory verification, ensuring that all stock records are accurate and that established internal control mechanisms are properly maintained.
4. Conduct routine inspections and prepare reports covering the quantity and quality of commodities received, dispatched, and handled. Identify and analyse stock discrepancies or damages, investigate shortages, and prepare warehouse loss reports with appropriate recommendations to support effective decision-making.
5. Apply appropriate measures to protect food and non-food commodities and maintain required quality standards. Implement preventive control measures in accordance with WFP procedures and within the authority granted by the supervisor.
6. Regularly monitor the condition of the warehouse and stored commodities and take necessary corrective actions. Support effective warehouse space utilization and ensure that commodities are properly organized and stored in accordance with WFP warehouse standards.
7. Provide guidance, coaching, and on-the-job training to warehouse personnel to strengthen their skills, improve their performance, and support their professional development.

Job Requirment

• Completion of secondary education; a relevant post-secondary certificate is an advantage.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in warehouse and inventory management, including receiving, storage, dispatch, stock control, documentation, SAP, and quality assurance.
• Experience with logistics databases, food and NFI warehouses, inventory management, and invoice processing.
• Fluency in spoken and written English, with proficiency in Pashto and/or Dari.
