The Nurse will have responsibilities that include:
- Assess patients’ conditions through triage and refer them to appropriate healthcare providers based on the severity of illness.
- Provide essential nursing care, including wound dressing, catheterization, vital sign monitoring, and medication administration
- Ensure proper preparation, maintenance, sterilization,and storage of medical equipment and instruments.
- Provide first aid and emergency support according to medical guidelines under physician supervision.
- Supervise nurse aides and ensure compliance with infection prevention and universal safety precautions.
- Educate patients and communities about immunization benefits, vaccine side effects, and maintaining vaccination records.
- Support patient referral, clinic operations, and healthcare service delivery as required.
- Assist with malnutrition screening, OTP patient registration, monitoring, follow-up, and other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Job Requirment
- A valid nursing certificate from a recognized institution is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in nursing or healthcare services.
- Proficiency in Pashto and Dari languages is required; knowledge of English is an advantage.
- Previous experience in health-related emergency response projects is preferred.
- Prior experience working with an international NGO is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated commitment to INTERSOS values, principles, policies, and procedures.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate information and respond appropriately to field-level inquiries.
- Ability and willingness to travel and stay overnight at service delivery locations when required.
