Key responsibilities of Nurse Nutrition:
- OTP/SFP Program Planning & Facility Coordination: Collaborate closely with the Medical Doctor to plan and organize Outpatient Therapeutic Program (OTP) and Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) operations at the Health Facility level, maintaining continuous coordination with MAM, PMR, and MedCo. Ensure facility staff fully comprehend and align with program objectives.
- Screening & Clinical Protocols: Direct the clinical team to ensure accurate screening of all children and Pregnant and Lactating Women (PLWs). Guarantee that standard admission, discharge, and transfer criteria across OTP/SFP are strictly understood and implemented.
- Patient Treatment & Case Monitoring: Conduct thorough health examinations and administer standardized treatments to identified malnutrition cases. Maintain accurate patient registration, oversee ongoing patient monitoring, and direct proper admission and discharge procedures.
- Supply Chain & Community Follow-up: Coordinate with the Medical Doctor and Medical Unit to maintain adequate inventory and continuous availability of specialized nutrition food supplies. Partner with Health Shuras and community volunteers to track absent children, non-responders, prolonged cases, and vulnerable patients facing social hurdles.
- Reporting & Administrative Support: Provide timely progress updates and promptly report operational issues or field challenges to line supervisors. Execute additional job-related duties assigned by management.
Key Responsibilities & Operational Duties:
Job Requirment
- Education & Certifications: Official Nursing or Midwifery diploma/certificate from a recognized medical institution.
- Professional Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of practical healthcare experience. Hands-on experience in Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM) protocols is a distinct advantage.
- Prior work experience in emergency health response initiatives or international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) is preferred.
- Language & Communication: Full fluency in local languages (Pashto and Dari) is required; working knowledge of English is an asset.
- Operational Readiness & Attendance: Full-time availability to reside/be based at the health facility location throughout the entire working week (Saturday to Thursday) to maintain uninterrupted medical services.
- Organizational Values & Soft Skills:
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and reporting skills to communicate effectively with field supervisors.
