Job Summary

• The mhGAP trainer will closely work with MHPSS Officer, MHPSS specialist, field site managers, and Project Manager and will be responsible for managing/supporting the supervision component of the project in the targeted locations, including field individual & group supervision, refresher trainings, reporting, conducting impact studies, and Monitoring & Evaluating of supervision activities. with coordination with relevant stakeholders.

The IMC Jobs in Kunar, ( MHPSS Trainer mhGAP) will have responsibilities that include:

• Develop a detailed training and supervision plan for the trained mh-GAP IG 2.0 participants.
• Provide initial and refresher in-person training for the GPs according to mh-GAP IG training guide, its contents, and underlying principles.
• Delivering engaging and informative sessions on mh-GAP  content, application, and training techniques through facilitating practical exercises, case discussions, and role-plays to enhance participants' understanding and skills.
• Ensure that participants are equipped adequately with the required skills and knowledge to provide ongoing support to the beneficiaries and provide ongoing support and guidance to participants during and after the training program.
• Incorporate interactive training methodologies and adult learning practice alongside with regular supervision of the trained participants.
• Assessing participants' knowledge and skills through pre- and post-training evaluations.
• Developing a comprehensive training report highlighting key outcomes, recommendations, and areas for improvement.
• Conduct in person and remote supervision & support group and individual learning for the field staff to practice the learnings of the training throughout the project life.   
• Lead the development of mhGAP related IEC materials Including training tools translation in Pashto & Dari.
• Oversee monitoring and evaluation of mhGAP programming, and collection and analysis of program data.  
• Participate in MHPSS local coordination meetings for information sharing, collaboration with partners, referral mechanisms, and advocacy for best practices and IASC MHPSS guidelines.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the line manager.
• Adhere to the Code of Conduct, maintain humanitarian principles and respect international humanitarian law.

• Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps.

As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of International Medical Corps and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards.  Conducts work with the highest level of integrity

Job Requirment

• The qualified candidate will be a mental health professional, Preferred Medical Doctor holding mh-GAP Certificate, or a psychiatrist with training capacity.
• Experience:
• Training and/or supervision experience in MHPSS field specially mhGAP is required.
• Competency
• Knowledgeable in and experience following IASC Guidelines on MHPSS in Emergencies and international best practices on the integration of MHPSS into primary health care settings.
• Strong organizational and supervisory skills
• Ability to work within a team structure or independently, flexible, and can cope with stressful workload.
• Honest, hardworking, and self-motivated
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within different cultural environments.
• Fluency in English, Dari and or/ Pashto required,
• Having training and supervision reporting experience is required.
