The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will have responsibilities that include:
- Develop and implement financial strategies.
- Prepare and oversee financial reports.
- Manage treasury operations and cash flow.
- Lead, supervise, and support the finance team.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- Conduct credit analysis and evaluation.
- Oversee liquidity planning and investment activities.
- Coordinate the annual budgeting process.
- Ensure effective corporate tax planning and compliance.
- Support financial decision-making and strategic planning.
- Guide and develop finance staff to enhance performance.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and financial requirements.
- Prepare management and statutory reports.
- Maintain accounting standards and oversee provisioning activities.
Job Requirment
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. A Master's degree or professional qualifications such as CLA, CBA, CPA, CISA, CFE, ACCA, or CA are considered an advantage. Certification in Islamic Banking is preferred.
- The selected candidate must obtain annual clearance and approval from Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB).
- At least 5 years of management experience within the banking industry.
- Proven experience in budgeting, financial risk control, and asset and liability management.
- Progressive background in accounting and financial analysis.
- Previous experience in Islamic banking is an added advantage.
- Sound knowledge of International Accounting Standards (IAS), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and management accounting practices.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and financial evaluation skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Understanding of investment management principles.
- Familiarity with Afghanistan’s banking laws and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
- Experience using financial management software and related systems.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities, and make informed decisions.
- Strong time management skills and high accuracy in completing financial tasks.
- Good understanding of banking compliance requirements and strong technical capabilities.
