The Trailer Driver will have responsibilities that include:
- Safely operate trailer trucks for both local and long-distance transportation in accordance with assigned routes and work plans.
- Transport containers, cargo, and heavy loads to designated destinations safely, efficiently, and within scheduled timelines.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including brakes, tires, lights, engine, and other essential components.
- Ensure the trailer is correctly attached and securely locked using the Fifth Wheel coupling system.
- Inspect, properly secure, and verify the stability of all cargo before commencing each trip.
- Comply fully with applicable traffic laws, transportation regulations, and company health and safety policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date logbooks, recording fuel consumption, mileage, trip information, delays, and other relevant details.
- Immediately report mechanical issues, accidents, safety concerns, or other irregularities to the relevant supervisor or authority.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of cargo whenever required.
- Keep the truck and trailer clean and perform routine basic maintenance as necessary.
- Carry out other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Job Requirment
- Possess basic literacy skills; candidates with a Grade 12 certificate are preferred.
- Have 2–3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Be fluent in at least one of the local languages, preferably Dari or Pashto.
- Hold a valid heavy vehicle driving license.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of road safety regulations and proper cargo handling procedures.
- Have a sound understanding of trailer systems and basic mechanical operations.
- Demonstrate good knowledge of the tools, equipment, and procedures required for the position.
- Possess the physical fitness and ability necessary to perform the duties of the role effectively.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and a responsible attitude toward assigned duties.
- Maintain a high level of honesty, integrity, and professionalism.
- Ability to remain effective and productive under pressure.
- Be willing and able to travel to other provinces and work overtime when required.
- Comply with all company rules, regulations, policies, and safety procedures.
