Key responsibilities of Survey Assistant (Casual):

Key Responsibilities & Field Operations:

• Project Implementation & Field Operations: Support the planning, coordination, and execution of CARE’s cross-border conflict response initiatives in Khost province, focusing on Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance (MPCA), Non-Food Item (NFI) distributions, and emergency relief operations. Ensure all field interventions are completed on schedule, within target scope, and in full compliance with donor mandates, CARE standards, and cluster guidelines.
• Beneficiary Selection & Surveying: Participate in transparent, accountable beneficiary identification, verification, and registration processes using standardized vulnerability criteria. Conduct door-to-door household surveys, gather field data for MPCA activities, and assist in managing distribution mechanisms and Post-Distribution Monitoring (PDM).
• Stakeholder Coordination & Community Engagement: Maintain regular communication with CARE provincial teams, local authorities, community elders, UN agencies, and partner NGOs. Coordinate with local leaders to facilitate smooth household surveying and ensure transparency during community-level activities.
• Monitoring & Reporting: Conduct routine field visits to track project progress, evaluate operational gaps, and propose actionable field improvements. Track progress against operational work plans and deliver timely reports detailing achievements and field challenges.
• Operational Management & Safeguarding: Carry out daily field tasks assigned by the CARE field response team and supervisors while strictly upholding CARE’s safety, safeguarding, protection, and organizational policies. Perform any additional job-related duties assigned by the Field Supervisor or FSL Program Coordinator.

Job Requirment

Qualifications & Experience Requirements:

• Educational Qualification:
  • Minimum: High School Diploma (12th-grade graduate) with at least 2 years of solid practical experience in field surveying and data collection.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or a related field, combined with relevant field experience.
• Professional Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated hands-on experience in conducting field surveys, assessments, and structured data collection.
• Technical & Soft Skills:
  • Data Tools: Advanced proficiency in operating KoBo Toolbox and other digital data collection/analysis software.
  • Languages: Full fluency in local languages (both Pashto and Dari).
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder coordination capabilities.
