The Senior Project Officer – GEWE (PCIO) will have responsibilities that include:

    • The Gender Officer supports implementation of the project's Gender Action Plan across six provinces by promoting gender equality in all project activities.
    • The role ensures equal participation of women and vulnerable groups, provides technical guidance to partners, and coordinates with project teams on gender initiatives.
    • Responsibilities include monitoring gender indicators, managing gender-related data, preparing progress reports, and documenting project achievements.
    • The position also delivers gender training, mentors provincial focal points, conducts field monitoring visits, and recommends improvements to project implementation.
    • In addition, the officer supports ADB missions, complies with AKF safeguarding policies, reports safeguarding and GBV concerns, and performs other gender-related tasks assigned by supervisors.

Job Requirment

    • Candidates should hold a bachelor's degree in Law, Sociology, Gender Studies, Development Studies, or a related field, along with at least four years of relevant experience in NGO or INGO settings.
    • Applicants are expected to demonstrate proven expertise in gender mainstreaming, as well as strong skills in reporting, computer use, and proficiency in English and either Dari or Pashto.
    • Excellent communication, leadership, analytical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills are essential.
    • The role further requires cultural sensitivity, strong training and facilitation abilities, the capacity to perform effectively under pressure, and a willingness to travel and work in project implementation areas.
