The Reporter will have responsibilities that include:
- Collect relevant information and facts, develop story ideas, and write engaging sports articles.
- Conduct research, observations, and interviews to obtain accurate information for sports-related stories.
- Report on current sports events and developments at local, regional, national, and international levels.
- Provide narration for news reports and sports-related content.
- Present sports news, programs, and other sports-related shows.
- Demonstrate strong on-camera presentation and communication skills.
- Coordinate and discuss interview questions with the show’s producer.
- Support producers in inviting suitable guests to create balanced and informative discussion panels.
- Write news stories, headlines, and other editorial content for publication.
- Capture photographs or video footage of relevant people, places, objects, or events when required.
- Gather, verify, and cross-check information through interviews, direct observation, and research.
- Organize gathered material, determine the appropriate angle or focus, and prepare stories in accordance with established editorial styles and formatting standards.
- Monitor police and fire department radio communications to identify potential story leads.
- Edit or assist with editing video content for television and other broadcast platforms.
- Appear on television programs for recorded or filmed interviews, reports, and narration.
- Deliver live reports from event locations or mobile broadcasting units.
- Work in assigned remote locations or foreign countries when required and serve as a correspondent or foreign correspondent.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Job Requirment
- A university degree in Journalism, Law and Political Science, Dari, Pashto Literature, or another relevant field.
- At least two years of professional experience in a related position.
- Proven expertise in drafting, proofreading, and refining written content.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong ability to conduct research and gather relevant information.
- Capacity to carry out structured interviews and verify information from reliable sources.
- Accurate typing skills and strong documentation abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent industry-standard software.
- Familiarity with desktop publishing tools and page-layout applications.
