The Nurse (Triage) Roster will have responsibilities that include:
- Assess patients’ conditions, perform triage, and refer cases to the appropriate healthcare professional.
- Provide nursing care, including wound dressing, catheterization, monitoring vital signs, and medication administration.
- Prepare and maintain the observation room, medical equipment, and instruments, including proper cleaning and sterilization.
- Provide first aid and emergency care under the physician’s guidance and follow universal precautions.
- Supervise and provide technical guidance to nurse aides.
- Educate patients and communities on routine immunization, possible vaccine side effects, and the importance of maintaining health cards.
- Refer patients requiring further care to the appropriate clinic staff.
- Support clinic activities as requested by the supervisor.
- Assist with community-based malnutrition screening, referral, and follow-up for children aged 6–59 months and pregnant/lactating women.
- Ensure proper registration, admission, discharge, and monitoring of OTP patients.
- Perform other duties assigned by the line supervisor.
Job Requirment
- Nursing certificate with at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in Pashto and Dari is required; English is an advantage.
- Previous experience in health-related emergency response projects is preferred.
- Prior experience with international NGOs is an advantage.
- Commitment to INTERSOS principles and compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and field teams.
- Willingness and ability to travel and stay overnight at service delivery locations.
