The Aga Khan Health Services is an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) that supports activities in the health field, and manages more than 200 health facilities, including a network of Aga Khan Hospitals. It works closely with the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) and the Aga Khan University (AKU) on planning, training, and resource development, and with the Aga Khan Education Services (AKES) and the Aga Khan Planning and Building Services (AKPBS) on the integration of health issues into specific projects. With community health programmes in Central and South Asia, as well as East Africa, AKHS is one of the most comprehensive private not-for-profit health care systems in the developing world. It provides curative health care through 237 health centres, dispensaries, hospitals, diagnostic centres and community health outlets to one million beneficiaries and handles 1.2 million patient visits annually. Building on the Ismaili Community’s health care efforts in the first half of the 20th century, AKHS now provides primary health care and curative care in Afghanistan, India, Kenya, Pakistan, and Tanzania, and provides technical assistance to government in health service delivery in Kenya, Syria and Tajikistan.

The Nurse / HOC will have responsibilities that include:
- Provide respectful and culturally appropriate care to patients and maintain professional conduct with staff and clients.
- Support implementation of new health and development programs in line with clinic policies and standards.
- Ensure compliance with organizational rules, duty responsibilities, and healthcare regulations.
- Deliver health education and awareness sessions to patients and community members.
- Apply infection prevention and patient care standards in all clinical services.
- Conduct growth monitoring, manage malnutrition screening, and ensure proper follow-up for children under five.
- Implement IMCI protocols and supervise ORT (Oral Rehydration Therapy) corner activities.
- Oversee hygiene practices, sanitation activities, and chlorine solution preparation within the clinic.
- Manage inpatient care and participate in community outreach activities.
- Support TB case detection, sputum collection, patient registration, DOTS treatment follow-up, and regular reporting.
- Ensure proper TB drug management, distribution of supplementary nutrition, and stock control.
- Maintain emergency preparedness, including management of emergency kits and ambulance readiness.
- Participate in training programs and share knowledge with clinic staff to improve service delivery.
- Report incidents, respond to emergencies, and perform additional duties assigned by the clinic supervisor.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and continuous service enhancement.
Job Requirment
- Nursing degree from a recognized public or private institute.
- 1–2 years of relevant professional experience in the healthcare field.
- Proficiency in Dari and Pashto; basic knowledge of English is an advantage.
- Familiarity with basic computer applications and digital tools.
- Strong teamwork, coordination, and collaboration skills.
- Compassionate, empathetic, and patient-oriented attitude.
- Calm, responsible, and detail-oriented under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of accuracy, accountability, and professionalism.
