Job Summary

    • As a Network Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of our organization's computer systems. You will be responsible for designing, installing, and supporting various networks, including LANs, WANs, intranets, and other communication systems. Your role involves configuring core network devices, monitoring network services, ensuring security measures, and supervising junior Network staff. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of our network infrastructure by staying informed about emerging technologies and conducting market analyses.
       

The Network Administrator will have responsibilities that include:

    • Core Network Device Management:
    • Perform initial installations and configurations of core network devices under the supervision and approval of the line manager.
    • Monitor and maintain the smooth operation and major configurations of firewalls (UTM Devices), Cisco switches, and the Asterisk system.
    • IT Network Services Monitoring:
    • Monitor and maintain Branch E1 and Internet connections, ensuring smooth operation, latency, performance, and utilization.
    • Conduct occasional bandwidth monitoring of Branch Internet connections.
    • Administrative User Management:
    • Create and document administrative users for JD-related devices, obtaining approval from the line manager.
    • Ensure the availability and smooth operation of the mentioned devices.
    • Security Measures:
    • Maintain security aspects, settings, and configurations, including firewall rules, Mac filtering, DDoS settings, IPS settings, SSL settings, encryption, authentications, and IP-to-user mapping.
    • Document and approve all security-related changes.
    • Performance Monitoring and Issue Resolution:
    • Monitor performance, record incidents, and address issues with core network devices.
    • Maintain change forms for any modifications to devices and services.
    • Administrative and Financial Tasks:
    • Perform service payment requests for Internet, E1, P2P, etc.
    • Conduct frequent market analyses and visits to stay informed about new technologies and improvements.
    • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Record network issues in the case management system or log sheet.
    • Prepare comprehensive MIS reports on network services, devices, and network stock for the line manager.
    • Strategic Planning and Compliance:
    • Prepare action plans for major activities in the headquarters and branches.
    • Ensure daily activities align with IT policies and procedures.
    • Supervision and Team Management:
    • Supervise junior network staff, ensuring the delivery of quality services and support.
    • Security and Confidentiality:
    • Review logs of devices, report suspicious activities, and maintain device/service-related passwords in a complex and confidential format.
    • Continuous Improvement and Compliance:
    • Stay fully aware of IT policies and procedures, ensuring adherence in daily network operations.
    • Attend to any other matters advised by the IT manager not explicitly mentioned in this document.

Job Requirment

    • Bachelor degree in Computer science.
    • Minimum of Three years of experience as Network Administrator or equivalent role.
    •  Professional certifications (CCNA, CCNP and CompTIA Network+ is preferred)
    • Technical Skills:
    • Networking Protocols: Proficiency in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and other networking protocols is essential for configuring and troubleshooting networks.
    • Network Security: Knowledge of security measures, firewalls, VPNs, and experience implementing security policies to protect against cyber threats.
    • Routing and Switching: Ability to configure and manage routers and switches, understanding routing protocols and VLANs.
    • Hardware Configuration: Experience in configuring and maintaining network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and servers.
    • Troubleshooting: Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve network issues efficiently.
    • Wireless Networking: Knowledge of wireless networking standards and experience in configuring and securing wireless networks.
    • Network Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with network monitoring tools to track performance, identify issues, and ensure optimal network operation.
    • Soft Skills:
    • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members, end-users, and management.
    • Problem-Solving: The ability to analyze and solve complex problems efficiently, especially during network outages or disruptions.
    • Attention to Detail: Precision in configuring and maintaining network settings, as small errors can have significant consequences.
    • Team Collaboration: The capacity to work well within a team, as network administrators often collaborate with other IT professionals and departments.
    • Time Management: Efficiently prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines and respond promptly to network issues.
    • Adaptability: The IT landscape is dynamic, and a network administrator should be adaptable to new technologies, updates, and emerging trends in networking.
    • Documentation: Thorough documentation skills to maintain records of network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps.
