Key responsibilities of MHPSS COUNSELOR:

Education & Specialized Credentials:

• Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, or a 2-year diploma in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) from an accredited national or international university/institute.
• Desired Qualifications: Completion of a one-year recognized MHPSS course from a reputable institution, with certified training in standardized protocols including PM+, EQUIP, Thinking Healthy, Self-Help Plus, mhGAP, Group Interpersonal Therapy (G-IPT), MHPSS Case Management, and Basic Helping Skills.

Work Experience & Key Skills:

• Clinical Experience: Minimum of 1 year of hands-on professional experience providing mental health counseling and psychosocial support services.
• Case Management & Group Work: Practical expertise in MHPSS case management, including facilitating individual and group counseling interventions.
• Professional Conduct: Full adherence to MHPSS Ethical Codes of Conduct and maintaining strict professionalism during client and visitor interactions.
• Reporting & Teamwork: Strong technical report-writing abilities, effective communication skills, and the capacity to collaborate within a team while operating independently with minimal oversight.
• Languages: Professional fluency in spoken and written Pashto and Dari (or relevant local dialects); proficiency in the English language is an added advantage.
