An international non-profit humanitarian help organization called INTERSOS seeks to provide aid to individuals who are in danger as well as victims of armed conflicts and natural disasters. Since its founding in 1992, it has operated under the principles of respect for variety and peaceful coexistence, human dignity, solidarity, justice, and equal rights and opportunities for all, with a focus on the most vulnerable and unprotected. INTERSOS is an autonomous organization that efficiently responds to the needs of individuals in dire conditions of crisis, primarily in the world’s poorest areas, by means of its own humanitarian operators. These individuals suffer, deny themselves of basic necessities, dignity, and rights. It keeps its operational structure adaptable.

Job Summary

    • The driver uses INTERSOS vehicles for transporting goods and people for official purpose to support implementation of its humanitarian activities, according to INTERSOS procedures.
    • He/she makes all journeys in accordance with established schedules, keep the vehicle in good condition, do regular check, make maintenance and reparation as required and according to INTERSOS policy and procedures.
    • the vehicle and its equipment and ensure the safety of all passengers
    • Keep the vehicle in good condition, carry out up-to-date care and maintenance of the vehicle according to established procedures and immediately inform his/her line manager of any problems
    • Keep the vehicle clean
    • Fill in the log-book and monitoring documents
    • Supervise the loading and unloading of the vehicle as well as the organization and safety of packages in his/her vehicle
    • Do maintenance in accordance with INTERSOS defined maintenance policy

The Intersos Jobs in Kabul, (Driver) will have responsibilities that include:

    • Respect the traffic rules, speed limits and braking distances and adjusts his/her speed according to road conditions
    • He/she must wear a seat belt, at all times and make sure that all passengers follow this rule
    • Follow the established procedure in the case of an accident
    • Before each journey, check that all vehicle documentation, a break-down kit, and other safety equipment is on board the vehicle and that communications equipment is in good working order
    • Keep base informed by Phone/SMS of his/her movements and listen to SFP/Logistics, follows their instruction.
    • Stay close to the vehicle and be available at all times
    • Ensure that passengers and vehicle return before nightfall
    • Ensure that there is enough fuel for each trip
    • Do not carry passengers who do not belong to the organization unless a discharge of responsibility has been signed, in agreement with the line manager
    • Do not carry passengers carrying arms or wearing.
    • Park the vehicle in a suitable place, ‘ready to leave’

Job Requirment

    12th graduated and mechanical certificate

    1 year of relevant experience with one INGO preferred

    English and Dari skills are required both writing and speaking

    Commitment to INTERSOS principles.

    Comply with all relevant INTERSOS policies and procedures.

    Valid driving license at least for one year.
