Key responsibilities of General Maintenance Technician (Kandahar):

1. HVAC & Air Conditioning Maintenance:

• Installation & Repairs: Install, troubleshoot, repair, and refill refrigerant gas for AC units across all AWCC Kandahar facilities, including corporate offices, commercial Brandshops, and Hubsites.
• Routine Inspections: Conduct regular HVAC system inspections across operational sites to detect component faults and prevent service downtime.
• Preventive Care: Clean filters, inspect condenser coils, and check electrical connections on AC units to optimize operational efficiency.
• Maintenance Logs: Maintain accurate logs tracking AC gas levels, component replacements, and preventive maintenance schedules.

2. Electrical Systems Maintenance & Safety:

• Lighting Systems: Repair and replace faulty light fixtures, bulbs, and ballast systems (including LED and fluorescent setups).
• Electrical Fixtures: Install and repair extension sockets, light sockets, wall switches, and electrical distribution boards.
• Hazard Prevention: Inspect electrical lines for wear, damage, or overheating to eliminate potential fire hazards.
• Safety Protocols: Strictly adhere to company safety guidelines and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when handling electrical or high-pressure equipment.

3. Plumbing Services & Operational Support:

• Plumbing Repairs: Install and repair sink pipes, drainage systems, and water supply networks across facilities.
• Leak Detection: Detect and seal pipe leaks to safeguard office infrastructure and technical equipment against water damage.
• Additional Tasks: Perform any other duties or maintenance tasks assigned by the direct supervisor.

Job Requirment

Educational Qualifications:

• High School Certificate (12th Grade) or Technical/Vocational School Graduation.
• Relevant technical certificates in HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing are an asset.

Work Experience & Technical Competencies:

• Experience: Minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant hands-on maintenance experience.
• Technical Skills: Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues during operations.
• Computer Skills: Intermediate computer skills are considered an added advantage.

Personal Attributes & Operational Availability:

• Work Ethic & Values: Demonstrates strong work ethic, integrity, honesty, and strict adherence to company policies.
• Working Conditions: Ability to perform well under pressure, willingness to travel to other provinces, and availability to work additional hours when required.

Language Requirements:

• Fluency in local languages (Dari and Pashto). Intermediate English communication skills are considered a plus.
