Job Summary
- The Automotive AC-Mechanic is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems including vehicle wiring systems and equipment, diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems, cleaning, adjusting, and repairing systems, performing warranty services, providing technical direction and on-the-job training.
The AWCC Jobs in Kabul, (Automotive AC Mechanic) will have responsibilities that include:
- Repair and maintain vehicle air-conditioned system.
- Plan, monitor, install, and adjust the full range of heating, cooling, ventilation, and car refrigeration equipment through an energy management system hands-on work.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, modify, and repair heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems and equipment including car AC-Systems.
- Install the vehicles' mechanical systems to include piping and modifications to the existing facility’s cooling systems.
- Utilize and update blueprints, technical manuals, manufacturer’s files, and other record-keeping.
- Monitor the work performed by outside contractors.
- Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on packaged units, split coil systems, air compressors, pumps, air handlers, air-cooled condensers, reciprocating chillers, 250-ton centrifugal and 190-ton rotary screw chillers, and various heat exchangers.
- Perform work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, following dealership and factory standards.
- Diagnose the cause of any malfunction and perform repair.
- Communicate with the related department to obtain needed parts.
- Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer.
- Examine the assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
- Road-test vehicles when required or refer to the test technician.
- Keep abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
- Report machinery defects or malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Maintain and be accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals.
- Operate all tools and equipment safely.
- Perform any other duties which may be assigned by the supervisor.
Job Requirment
- High school education; or up to two year-related training.
- At least two years of related work experience.
- Heating and Air Conditioning Certification for Auto/Light Truck is an asset.
- Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Certification for Medium/Heavy trucks is an asset.
- Valid Driver's License.
