Job Description
Job Description:
- Plan and ensure the strategic building and management of Community Based Protection Committees (CBPCs) in accordance with best practices and IRC policy
- Mobilize the community in the establishment of CBPCs, oversee and guide members in activities
- Ensure that committee membership is inclusive with Age, Gender, Disability & Diversity approach
- Enable CBPCs to build and strengthen community ownership and participatory processes
- Through regular trainings, improve the skills, knowledge, and capacity of CBPCs to identify, prevent and respond to protection concerns in communities
- Support CBPCs in undertaking of community-based protection analysis, service mapping, and referrals
- Support CBPCs in developing community-based protection strategies to address protection risks
- Build capacity of CBPCs through trainings on protection processes
- Oversee and guide CBPCS in implementation of quick impact projects in accordance with criteria, including reviewing community proposals, and selection of projects with aim of preventing, reducing, or addressing key protection risks and concerns identified by the community. Support CBPCs with implementation by undertaking procurement and financial management. Support Monitoring and Evaluation team in measuring the progress and impact of the quick impact projects
- Support CBPCs in undertaking information dissemination in communities on laws, rights, and available services
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. social work, sociology, psychology, law)
- Approximately 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, professional technical experience, including 2 year implementing humanitarian protection programs in emergency/conflict contexts
- Experience in regular report writing
- Experience with protection monitoring and case management preferred
- Experience in designing and implementing surveys or assessments preferred
- Good communication skills including ability to gain trust and build relationships with new communities
- High standard of spoken and written Dari and Pashto (depending on location) and English
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word
