Head Teller supervises a teller line (the supervision of the teller area) that processes a variety of financial transactions including cheque cashing, withdrawals, deposits, and loan payments.

Head Teller assists tellers with more complex tasks, approves exception transactions, backs up tellers and performs teller duties as needed. Head Teller is also responsible for recording transactions, which involves logging checks and preparing transaction reports, counting and packaging currency. Head Teller provides customers with high level of service, privacy and confidentiality, and friendly, welcoming attitude. He/ she Handles all transactional services, including bank deposits, monetary withdrawals, financial transfers, and other bank transactions.

Duties & Responsibilities

1     Ensuring vigilant supervision of tellers/ cashiers and performance of their duties as per laid down guidelines/ policies.

2     Managing the vault custodianship.

3     Maintains adequate cash position in cash vault and ensuring cash retention within specified limits and subsequent reporting to Head Office.

4    Approve cash withdrawals overrides on authorization limits.

5    Ensure safety measures compliance by maintaining minimum amount of teller cash.

6     Adhere to balancing guidelines while counting cash and balancing assigned cash and work.

7     Collection of required documents and reporting of large cash transactions as per AML/CFT SOP.

8    Conform to items groupings sent to transit department and ensure meeting of scheduled pick-up time. Ensuring proper remittance of cash among branches or to Central Bank as per laid down policy and security norms.

9     Ensuring proper counting of cash at the end of the day and ensuring sufficient cash balance for the next day processing.

10  Ensuring duplicate key swap on the designated intervals and reporting to management.

11  Ensure teller staff training in customer service, product knowledge, operations and transaction processing. Ensure tellers provide outstanding customer service.

12  Create an exceptional experience for every customer conducting teller transactions.

13 Schedule teller shifts and lunches to guarantee branch coverage, if needed/ required.

14  Maintaining accurate records of customer transactions in order to ensure that the bank complies with laws and regulations regarding money laundering and fraud prevention.

Other job-related tasks as assigned by the management.

Qualification:

·        High School Graduation is must; higher education will be preferred.

·        Minimum 1 year to 2 years experience related to the mentioned position.

·        Familiarity in using of Flex-Cube system.

·        Cash handling and mathematics.

·        Organization and Problem-solving

·        Good communication skills both oral and written in Dari, Pashto and English.

·        Interpersonal and team building skills.

·        Fast data entry skills.

Strong accuracy and flexibility is required.
