Job Summary

    • Under the direct supervision of the Senior Programme Associate (DRR-Engineering) and in close collaboration with the DRR Field Engineer; and relevant Units in Afghanistan Country Office, the selected candidate will be responsible and accountable for the following duties and responsibilities.


       


The CTG Jobs in Multi Location, (Field Assistant (DRR)- ( 6 Vacancies ) will have responsibilities that include:

    • Assist the Field Engineer to carry out site assessment of the area prior to commencement of the construction works for the evaluation of availability of quality construction materials.
    • Assist the Field Engineer in estimating the day-to-day requirement of construction materials, tools, and equipment at the site.
    • Assist the Field Engineer to keep records of laborers (skilled and unskilled) and all materials delivered/used on the site on a daily basis.
    • Assist the Field Engineer in monitoring quality of materials and workmanship to ensure the work is according to design, specifications, and within the planned timeline.
    • Assist Field Engineer in setting out the design layout to guide the construction works.
    • Any other task in the field as assigned by the Field Engineer.
    • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Job Requirment

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as technical education in masonry, construction, associative engineering, architecture, or civil engineering with one year of working experience.
    • High school/College Diploma in the above field of studies with 3 years of relevant professional experience.
    • Experience in construction work of different type of structures particularly stone masonry protection wall, gabion masonry protection walls, retaining walls, gabion works, check dams, water intakes, culverts, floodway, and others (buildings and ect.)
    • Experience in organizing on site activities such as layout of structures including protection walls, monitoring construction works and labours , preparing CfW timesheets, receiving and recording construction materials and construction tools etc.

      SKILLS

    • Familiarity with tools such as level machine, and GPS.
    • Knowledge in MS Office.
    • The candidate must be willing to reside and work in designated areas and work overtime if necessary.
    • Good Communication skills on community basis is desired.

      Languages

    • For all Applicants, fluency in English is required (oral and written).
    • Working knowledge of Pashto or Dari is required.
    • Fluency in all national language(s) are highly advantages.
