The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH has supported Afghanistan with humanitarian and development assistance since 2002. Our main commissioning parties are the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Federal Foreign Office (AA). Our activities focus on improving living conditions for the population.

Due to current developments and in consultation with the German Federal Government, GIZ has suspended the implementation of projects in Afghanistan for the time being.
