CAREER SUMMARY
I have 12 years working experience as a Child Protection Technical Advisor, Project Manager for Child Protection in Emergency Response and many other roles of programme management held over years in a development Context and in emergencies (CPiE) programming and management attained in the Northern Uganda Refugee Response particularly Bidibidi, Adjuman and Yumbe Refugee resettlement. I hold 7 years’ experience of programme design, implementation and management acquired while working with World Vision Uganda and UNICEF funded projects. Hold 4 years of exposure of Social Behavioral Change Communication (SBCC) programming and research acquired after managing a behavioral longitudinal research project in conjunction with Queen Margaret University of Scotland. I have conducted several longitudinal researches in Uganda in conjunction with Queen Margaret university of Scotland and Columbia University of New York.
SKILLS SUMMARY
Am currently a World Vision Uganda Technical Advisor for child Protection. I design, Implement, monitor and report on World Vision Uganda Child Protection Technical Program implemented in 50 privinces in Uganda which is aligned to a five-year strategy.
As a Child Protection Specialist, I supported the “Intergovernmental Authority on Development” (IGAD) with developing a Child Policy 2022 for seven countries in the Horn of Africa, that is Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan and Uganda.
I technically oversee child protection in emergencies (CPiE) programming and management in the Northern Uganda Refugee Response particularly Bidibidi, Adjuman and Yumbe Refugee resettlement serving around 1,200,000 refugees.
I currently supervise a team of 33 staff deployed in 50 provinces/districts. I have managed 6 child protection grants in different parts of Uganda worth $18m funded by UNICEF and JICA. I am the brain behind the Prevention and Prohibition of Human Sacrifice Act 2021 in Uganda. I have developed a number of theories of change, child protection technical approaches and child protection technical programmes.
Manage and implement different donor projects for child protection programming from public and private funding streams, including foundations, private donors and key bilateral donors, such as USAID, and UNHCR, IDI, RTI, governments of Hong Kong, Australia, UK and Others.
I Support a stream of developing agencies in African region in Ethiopia and Rwanda to develop child protection technical programmes while on secondment. Currently, am a technical advisor to Uganda government Parliamentary Committee drafting a Bill to end Human Trafficking in Uganda. An expert in evidence-based local and national level advocacy, influencing policies, practices and systems/structures for sustainable development.
With vast experience of empowering communities for sustainable development, and skilled in effective, functional M&E, learning system programming. I have been a keynotes speaker and given lectures in international fundraising conferences in USA in 2016, Thailand 2015, and Ethiopia 2014 and in Uganda over the years.
I have collaborated, networked with a number of multisector agencies through advocacy and mutual learning. Nurtured several issue-based coalitions and networks, designed several programmes and theories of change and strategies.
